Kerrik was born to a high priest in Megam, and raised and reared to follow the path of the Light Dragons. He and his sister, Mallorie, were very close while they were young.

After a bit, though, it became clear that their father intended Kerrik to follow in his footsteps and become a high priest. Kerrik, who had always been fond of the fighting arts, rebelled against this idea. For two years, he fought with his father about the fact, until he finally ran away when he was eighteen, a full three years older than Mallorie.

He headed straight across Eire, ending up first in Kanemoria, where he learned his first lesson in mercentarism by getting the living daylights beat out of him in a drinking contest. As time went on, he traveled and learned the way of the mercenary. He spent much of his time alone, and has rarely even been employed by others despite his remarkable reputation.

The solitude had its own impact on Kerrik, and though he remembers his family, mainly Mallorie, he has other things he considers far more important.

Normally very thoughtful and quiet before his time alone in the Atsirian desert, he now is rather short and succinct with what he says and does.

His interests in the world lie in two things: money, and fighting, more the latter than the former. He's a bit of a wheeler-dealer, working often for less than a standard mercenary would if he's guaranteed a good fight. He's taken up a sort of sickening fascination with the bloodshed he causes.

In battle he can be a madman, whether facing ally or enemy. One reason he's rarely hired is due to this; in the heat of the moment he often has been known for accidentally killing an ally.

Kerrik is tall and well-built, with black hair he keeps cut short to deal with the Atsirian heat. He has brown eyes, which might appear yellow to those observing from a distance.
